Incorrigible Michigan Driver Drives Crackdown Plan
Secretary of State James M. Hare uses the Detroit case of a 36 year old driver with 47 moving violations and 19 offenses to argue for two new laws. An Illinois style traffic ticket system would force court appearance or surrender of license and Oregon like vehicle impounding would hold the car until privileges are reinstated. Hare says such measures could deter drivers who operate while suspended or revoked and reduce costly enforcement.
