Alumni Youth International stage concert and charity gift
Last Saturday in Saline the MYI alumni staged a concert in the Saline High gym featuring current and former members. Proceeds benefit the MYI scholarship fund aiding young musicians on annual concert tours abroad. Also noted: Rusty’s General Store in Bridgewater closed, but the rear post office remains open.

Local Man Fred C. Rieckhoff Sr. dies at 87 in Howell
Fred C. Rieckhoff Sr. of Howell died Saturday at McPherson Health Center after a long illness. A jeweler and optometrist, he lived in the Howell Brighton area most of his life except ten years in Silver City New Mexico. Born in Howell, he married Ina in 1923 in Ann Arbor. Survived by wife three daughters two sons and three grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday at Schnickenberg Funeral Home Howell with Rev Allan Gray officiating. Burial at Fairview Cemetery Brighton.
