Goodwins salvage bricks from Mills home memory
The Goodwins converted remnants from the 1833 Mills home razed in Saline in 1967 into a brick fireplace wall in their 4300 Braun Rd residence. They gathered six loads of bricks and debris, cleaned 750 bricks into an 11 by 8 foot feature, and used remaining bricks for a front walk. A mantel from the Mills beam tops the fireplace, while antique items from the Mills era decorate the room.
