Three Plead Guilty In Saline Break In Case

Three Saline youths pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to breaking and entering an unoccupied building from the Vescio Market incident last week. Sentencing set for August 19 for Michael Robison Randall Eberle and Karl Milkey all 18. A fourth youth was Saline. Army Specialist 4 Paul E Arms Jr 20 whose parents live at 126 BE Michigan Ave assigned as radio repairman with Americal Division in Vietnam July 12.

City to Obtain New Packer For Rubbish Pickups

City Administrator Mike Strait to obtain bids on purchase or lease purchase of a new rubbish packer. The current unit bought two years ago is worn and lacks a backup, while a smaller Dearborn-sourced packer is insufficient for high trash loads. Strait cites costs of 21 000 to 22 000 dollars for a unit of the required size.

Hospital Expansion Urged for Saline Community

A unanimous Areas Planning and Advisory Council resolution urges Saline Community Hospital to expand adding 80 acute care beds and 25 long term beds after a needs study by 19 council members. The proposal goes to the hospital board chaired by Ernest G irbach with a 60 member council and a new executive board planned.

Saline education negotiators iron out details before talks

School contract negotiators met Friday to iron out as many details as possible ahead of a Labor Mediation Board session in Saline. LMB mediator Leo Cadwell has met with the Board of Education and the Saline Education Association bargainers once, with another meeting set for 6 p.m. Tuesday. They reportedly resolved about 10 items on Friday and will reconvene Monday to clear nuisance items before salary discussions. Attorney Fred Schwarze of Detroit represents the Board. the SEA bargaining group has six members.

Teen Club Plans First Summer Dance at Houghton School

The Teen Club announces its first summer dance from 8 p.m. to midnight on Friday August 15 at Houghton School. The band will be named later. Open to all high school age youths in the area, organizers hope for at least one more dance this year if this event succeeds.
