Long Hours Ahead As Saline Council Sets Aug 9 Work Session
Saline City Council may work into the morning next Monday August 9 gathering for a work session and special meeting. At least six agenda items were referred from Monday nights session to allow staff reports on sewer by pass routes by the East Belt line and plans for replacement repair and modification of the East Belt sewer. Council denied extending water service to the Johnson Quick property citing a policy matter with only Mayor George Anderson voting yes. The council also moved to pursue a $2.5 million grant with Pittsfield Township for upgrading the Saline Waste Treatment Plant and sewer system in three phases.
