Washtenaw County Hospital Auxiliary elects officers
The Washtenaw county Hospital Auxiliary held its annual luncheon and board meeting electing officers for 1963 1964. Elected were president Mrs J A Van den Broek vice president Miss Edna Hedrick treasurer Mrs Richard Bell assistant treasurer Mrs Jack Goble recording secretary Mrs Alice Mulchahey and corresponding secretary Mrs G E Elshort. The Women s Guild of Bethel United Church of Christ will host a mother and daughter gathering at 7 30 p m May 1 with speaker Mrs Lawrence Ward of Milan plus junior choir music and a two piano duet by Judy Kuebler and Marcia Hieber.

Yvonne M Bernard daughter of Mr and Mrs L H Bernard of 105 E McKay St wed Robert M Willson of Detroit in an evening ceremony at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev H L Engel officiated. The groom a dental researcher, earns degrees from Central College and University of Missouri. The bride, a Henry Ford hospital nurse, wore white silk ottoman with a lace pearl crown veil and carried white roses and carnations. A reception followed and the couple will reside in Detroit after May 12.

Saline High speakers set for regional speech meet
Two Saline High School students Pam Kidwell and Gayle Finkbeiner will compete at the regional Speech Conference at Eastern Michigan University Ypsilanti. Kidwell will perform humorous readings at 1 p.m. and Finkbeiner original oratory at 2:30 p.m. The meet includes 25 southeastern Michigan high schools. David Reinke will accompany the Hornet contestants. Public attendance invited.

YSH Patients May Get Bus Before Summer
Ypsilanti State Hospital patients may receive a new bus by the end of May as a gift stamps drive reaches 2000 stamps and $324 in cash. A second bus is still expected, with ongoing efforts to collect stamps at Saline Market or by mail to Box A. Cathy Carpenter received a family dinner honoring her confirmation with Mr and Mrs Eugene Carpenter.

Retirement Party Honors Robert Gerould at Ypsilanti State Hospital
A retirement party honors Robert Gerould director of the accounting department at Ypsilanti State Hospital. He joined the hospital in 1934 after earlier posts and helped organize the hospital Employees Association while watching the facility grow from 1 200 patients and 200 employees to 4 100 patients and 970 staff. He and his wife Beulah Wertman have two daughters. The Geroulds will reside at 863 North Milan Street after retirement.
