St Pauls Church Names Staff For New School Year

St Pauls Evangelical and Reformed Church announces church school staff for the new year. General superintendent Erwin Schmid introduces officers Norman Girbach as financial secretary and Mrs Chris Volz as treasurer at the Rally Day observance. Hammond District Schedules Fifth Annexation Vote

Hammond district plans a new election on Monday October 11 to decide annexation to Saline Area School District after an 18 to 18 tie from last Friday's balloting. The tie follows three defeats and growing support for annexation. A board member sought an immediate revote from County Superintendent J Haak, but a member left the meeting preventing it.

German student Eberhardt Brauner returns home

Eberhardt Brauner of Cologne Germany, a former house guest of Miss Jean Nichols and her parents Mr and Mrs Harold Gray, has returned to Germany after visiting the United States. Local hosts welcome 21 foreign English teachers at Braun road farm

Mr and Mrs Ernest Zahn hosted Sunday for 21 visiting foreign teachers of English at their Braun road farm. The group, flown from many countries, toured nearby farms and Austin orchards, tasted local cider and milk, and learned about American farm life before concluding with supper and a trip to Ann Arbor. The visitors, to be placed in U S schools after Christmas, expressed interest in the Saline Community Fair and were invited to attend.

Saline plans its annual parade on Saturday October 2 starting at 2 30 PM due to football traffic in Ann Arbor.
