Saline boasts centenarian Sarah Warner who marks her 100th birthday on September 30. Born in New York, she spent most of her life in Michigan, first in Mooreville where her father James Waugh ran a machine shop. She witnessed mobility and social changes from ox teams to radios and airplanes, raised her grandson after her son's wife died, and later moved to Ann Arbor to support his University studies. Her family includes children in Ypsilanti and Detroit, with a grandson coach Lloyd Olds of the Normal College.
