Second Stage Wheat Campaign Under Way in County

The second stage of the wheat production control campaign has begun with hundreds of farmers sending census cards indicating willingness to sign for cash benefits. Application blanks are being mailed to cooperating farmers and must be returned by September 25. Osler says maps of farms showing fields, acres, and crops for 1988 are required, along with threshing certificates and production data for 1930–32.

Wright R M 83 Dies After Lingering Illness In Ontario

Reuben Miles Wright aged 83 died Friday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs C Ow Woodbridge after a lingering illness. Born February 21 1850 in Colchester Ontario he married Frances Boam in 1880 at Thamesville Ontario. Survived by widow daughter granddaughter Miss Muiriel Woodbridge and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 pm at the residence Rev Bertram Ede officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery.

The 83rd Hillsdale County Fair begins Sunday September 24 with a broad schedule. Dr Hazen G Werner of Flint delivers the opening address under the Hillsdale County Ministerial Association. School children visit Tuesday while horse pulling contests, ball games, livestock cavalcade, vaudeville acts and fireworks highlight four nights.
