Ernest H. Chapelle of Ypsilanti, Rotary International district governor for the 153rd district, will visit Saline on Thursday September 21 for talks with the Saline Rotary Club leaders led by President Max Fosdick. Chapelle, Ypsilanti schools superintendent and club member, was elected at Cleveland in June during Rotary’s annual convention. The club, organized in 1929, meets at The Tavern and hosts a civil service address by attorney George Meader of Ann Arbor.
Mrs. Caroline Burkhart wife of Fred Burkhart died Friday at 8 30 am after a long illness at her home. Born October 22 1884 in Manchester she was active in civic life as former Saline Woman's club president and Washtenaw County Federation treasurer. Funeral at St Thomas Catholic church in Ann Arbor. interment in St Thomas cemetery.
Saline General Hospital reports the birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lambarth on Monday. The newborn weighed nine pounds and one ounce.
