Foreign trade policy cuts farm women's egg income

The Republican Farm Division accuses the Roosevelt New Deal of lowering tariffs and boosting foreign egg imports. They say imports rose from 205000 cases in 1932 to 708000 in 1935 and nearly 1000000 in 1936, depressing egg prices and reducing farm buying power by millions. They warn a one cent per dozen price drop costs farm families about 26 million dollars annually. Blissfield beet harvest begins as trucks head to Great Lakes refinery, signaling weeks of activity. The Supreme Court opens with its crier invoking God save the United States.
