The Saline Board of Education approved preliminary plans for the new Saline High School to be built on the Ann Arbor Saline Road with the shop area to be revised by architect Guido Binda on the recommendation of the Department of Public Instruction and staff. occupancy is targeted for fall 1959. Cub Scout Meeting Welcomes New Members And Awards
At the Cub Scout meeting held November 20 seven new members joined the pack: Alan Gilbert David Lee Carlton Michael Carpenter Steven Scott Russell Jack Starling Roger Wiedmayer and Rolland Wayne West. Various bear wolf and denner badges and arrows were awarded to several scouts including Dick Landon and David Ing. A flag ceremony honored Den 3 with the attendance flag. A swimming party is planned for December 3 at the YMCA and the next pack meeting on December 4 will collect cookies for Ypsilanti State Hospital patients.

Corn Picker Blaze Damages Farm Tractor
At 5 p.m. Sunday the Saline Fire Department was called to the Raymond Rentschler farm at 8091 Austin Rd. where a corn picker mounted on a tractor caught fire causing considerable damage, especially to the tractor, before the blaze was extinguished. On Friday at 1:30 p.m. a fire started in a car after a tire blew out, leaving the vehicle virtually demolished.
