Aged Saline Woman Dies From Fall Injuries
Mrs. Ida D. Cammet aged 85 died Monday at Saline General Hospital from injuries after a fall at her home a month earlier. Born October 8 1860 in Saline township she lived in the area most of her life aside from 16 years in Gratiot County. Surviving son Charles Oscoe two sisters Olive Haslick and Bertha Needham five grandsons and one great granddaughter. Funeral at Lockwood funeral home Wednesday at 2 pm with Rev. Alvin Siemsen officiating. interment Oakwood Cemetery.

Saline Huskers Dominate County Husking Contest Wins
Saline led the county husking event with over 100 participants at L. E. Burdick’s farm on Webster Road. Bruce Phillips topped the local contest with 100 ears weighing 64.5 pounds in five minutes, followed by Robert Humphery and Charles Kohler. Cash prizes went to the top six, and a Saline trophy jug was awarded. The same day at Frank Humphery farm, Bruce Phillips and William Wells won first in the Sophomore class with 145 pounds. Rotary guests included Judge James R. Breakey Jr who spoke on bureaucracy and local self government.
