Farmer Struck by Mad Bull in Pleasant Lake Area
Mahlon Smith of Pleasant Lake Road Manchester was attacked by an enraged bull last Wednesday while trying to salt the animal. He was hurled through a barn door and later rushed to Tecumseh hospital with a broken arm a crushed shoulder and severe facial lacerations. His condition is serious but he is known by many locally.

Thomas Burrow 88 longtime resident died at Washtenaw county infirmary. Born August 11, 1857 in Lodi township he was son of Thomas and Elizabeth Burrow. His wife Anna Shepherd died in 1922. Several nieces and nephews survive. Private funeral held at Lockwood funeral home with Rev. C Wittbracht officiating burial in Lodi cemetery.

The American Legion and the Women’s Auxiliary held their annual banquet at Saline High School on Monday evening November 12 to officially welcome World War II veterans. An excellent meal and a brief business meeting followed. Plans to raise funds for a new Legion home were discussed. Dancing concluded the evening with a stand march and circle two step.

Couple Married At Portsmouth Detention Camp
