President Warren G. Harding issued a proclamation designating Thursday November 30 as Thanksgiving Day. He urged nationwide gratitude for the nation’s bounty despite trials and urged families and houses of worship to give thanks and seek continued blessings in the year ahead.
Three Chelsea girls, ages not stated, were sent to the State Industrial Home for Girls in Adrian after county officials took charge. Sheriff Pack and county truancy officer Mrs. Maria Peel reported the girls had been roaming Chelsea and nearby towns late at night. Two received three year terms and one received one year. three young men in Jackson were arrested for contributing to their truancy.
