The Community Council sponsored a Halloween party for over 200 youths and 350 parents and friends. A parade of costumes featured students imitating political figures and a bonfire finale with dances, songs, and prize judging in a community effort backed by local clubs and churches.

Next Monday night the Boy Scouts of Troop 46 Saline and Troop 49 Milan will hold a joint court of honor in the local gym. Awards for scout achievement will be presented to members of both troops and George Cook of Saline will receive the Eagle Scout badge. Scoutmaster Jakad and Troop 46 invite parents and friends to attend.
Dr Frank Gifford an optometrist will examine eyes at the Milan Hotel Saturday from 1:00 to 9:30 p m Glasses fitted with care and attention to lenses and frames. This event offers full optometry services in a convenient downtown location.
About eighty delegates attended the Washtenaw County Federation of Women's Clubs fall meeting at the Methodist Church. Dr. Mehran K. Thomson spoke on youth delinquency, heredity and environment, with emphasis on guidance failures. Music by Clarabell Bruckner and Carol Jones followed as delegates and visitors enjoyed refreshments.
Saline Woman's Club met October 31 at Mrs Frank Campbell's home. Mrs Walter MacArthur led the business session and a donation of 5 to the Community Council was approved to cover Halloween party expenses. Mrs Rudolph Hertler discussed Woman and Her Political Outlook. A piano duet by Mrs Bessie Collins and Miss Vesta Mills accompanied the program. The next meeting is set for November 14 at Mrs Charles Parsons's home with Mrs Charles Jordan leading a talk on Our Returning War Veterans.
An attractive window display over recent weeks features garlands of fall leaves a shock of corn and a full supply of fruits and vegetables reminding viewers of a Harvest Home festival and the approaching Thanksgiving Day.
