The event featured flowers choir music and a reception for about 70 guests before Brackney reports for sea duty in San Francisco June 10.

John Eugene Dicks 83 died Tuesday night May 22 at his North Ann Arbor home. Born Feb 5 1862 in Jonesville he lived here since 1929. Survived by wife Minnie daughters Maxwell Black and Margaret McIvor three sons Luther Leland and Harlan with Army on Okinawa 12 grandchildren. Funeral at 2 pm Saturday with Dr Fred A Lendrum. Oakwood cemetery. Memorial Day parade honored WWI veterans with high school band scouts and children. notes a father absent in service.
