The Rotary Club discussed the Boy Scout budget and heard Dr. C. O. Woodbridge speak on automobile crash causes. He warned against speed and alcohol, stressed road lighting, and described severe injury risks, urging careful driving and proper accident response.

The annual event featured blue and white decorations in the auditorium with a spider web ceiling. Lily centerpieces graced banquet tables and an air ride theme guided the program led by Katherine Marken and Richard Ward. After the banquet, Mel Bisnack’s eight-piece orchestra provided music and refreshments were served. The Class of ’37 looks ahead to a J-Hop and thanks city residents and Federated Church ladies for flowers and banquet prep.
Michigan State College hosts Livestock Feeders Day on Thursday June 4 with talks on purchasing marketing and grading by Georgie A Brown and others. A range conditions discussion by A J Dexter and experiments in fattening Herefords and Holstein cattle will be shown alongside carcass grading by H Huntington. Speakers include B Foley Anthony Thomson Wright LaVoi and Moxley with the event starting at 9 30 a m at the swine barn.
Dog taxes are due with fees of 5.00 for females, 1.50 for males and unsexed dogs, plus kennel licenses for 2 to 12 dogs at the same location 7.50. After June 1 a 2.00 penalty applies to male unsexed and female dogs. The county has a full time dog warden and will destroy undpaid dogs. Mark B. Sugden, Supervisor.
Plans are laid for a Memorial Day program on Saturday under the American Legion with Boy Scouts Camp Fire Girls and ex servicemen. The observance includes a parade assembling at 9:30 a m at Maple Avenue marching to Oakwood cemetery, a funeral march, a Legion memorial service, and a school auditorium program featuring Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and remarks by Dr W D Henderson and Clara Schmid. Most city businesses will close for the day.
Saline residents prepare for a countywide Recreation al Projects exhibit at Saline High School Auditorium next Wednesday. Doors open 7:30 PM with the program starting 8 PM. Expected attractions include choruses from Saline and Ypsilanti, taps by Dexter, dances from Delhi, plays from Saline and Platt, sewing showcases from Platt Saline Whitmore Lake and Chelsea, plus handicraft and woodwork displays from Whitmore Lake Dexter Fritz Delhi Platt Carpenter and Detxer.
Superintendent Byler John Knight and W. L. Wright with L. E. Schafer and S. O. Reeves toured Ford Motor Companys new Rotunda near its Detroit offices. The 110 foot tall pre show building, moved from Chicago, features a revolving globe mural map and murals detailing company policies. It will display the Ford line and be open to the public.
The 1936 Terraplanes are shown at the Heininger Garage showroom floor. The cars boast modern styling and luxury with advanced safety features and fundamental innovations claimed to be unseen in prior auto designs.
Mrs Rosina Sturm thanks friends for flowers cards and gifts sent during her recent illness in a brief card of thanks.
