Exchange Mayor Day Planned in Saline and Hazel Park

Mayor Louis Elias of Hazel Park will be Saline's Mayor for a Day on Monday May 20 as part of a Michigan Week exchange with Mayor Henry Leutheuser of Saline. Events include a 9 30 a m reception and breakfast at Stil s Restaurant an airplane flight from Ann Arbor Airport a tour of industrial plants a visit to a radio station and a high school assembly at 11 30 a m culminating in a 6 80 p m dinner at the Saline Hotel with a German band from Saline High School Bands.

Saline Teen-age Road-e-o Seeks Entries This Friday

Saline High School hosts a Jaycee sponsored teen road e o Friday at 1 p m with a written safety quiz and four driving skill tests. First prize is a 50 dollar savings bond second is 25 dollars with a plaque. Local winner advances to Detroit state contest on June 15.

Boy Scout Benefit Sale Saturday

The Saline Rotary Club sponsors a benefit sale to raise funds for the Boy Scout activity fund. It will be Saturday May 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the store next to Still's Hotel. Donations of clothing, appliances, toys, books, and novelties are encouraged with pickup Thursday and Friday. Proceeds support Summer camping and outdoor activities for Troop 46 Saline Scouts and Explorers. Call Saline 175-J to arrange pickups.

Saline Junior High School plans a career night for ninth grade pupils in the auditorium at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday May 23. Principal Charles Jaquith says faculty will meet with pupils and parents to review aptitude test results and discuss career options and course planning for high school next fall.
