1st Lt. Charles H. Hood, nephew of Mrs. Martin Fuoss, was killed in action in Italy on January 30, 1944. Hood, born February 21, 1904 in Saline, was a University of Nebraska graduate and lawyer from Wahoo. He left a wife Minna and a son Charles Jr., with his mother Mrs. Clara L. Hood and two brothers Richard Hood and others noted.
