American Legion sponsors sale at Uphaus Electric Shop offering 4x6 flags for five dollars and 3x5 flags with brackets for three dollars and 4x6 best wear flags for four dollars. Aim to place a flag on every Saline home.
Milan tops Saline 6 to 1 to break a first place deadlock and claim the western division crown in the Huron league. Weed allowed no hits through three innings, then Saline rallied for a 1st inning run before Milan mounted a multi-inning attack, with L. Falk and Westfall combining on the mound for Milan as their lineup collected eight hits. Saline had earlier tied Milan 2-2 in 11 innings and then beat Milan 2-0 in a no run no hit game, with Weed pitching five games in under three weeks.
Banks nationwide push to locate matured and unpaid Government securities including Liberty and Victory Bonds from 1917 to 1919. The Treasury says $450 million in matured debt exists, with $21 million in such bonds likely still bearing coupons. Citizens urged to search trunks and teapots for uncashed bonds and to file claims with proof if destroyed or mutilated.

Michigan's War Board promotes an educational plan on new federal truck restrictions for farmers with D. H. Stark of Michigan State College noting exemptions for farm to farm hauling. Michigan leads the nation in cottage cheese with 2 300 000 pounds and butter production over 90 million pounds while urging War Bond purchases and cemetery dues.
Harold A. Miller of the 52 Evac Hosp Force 6814 R APO 502 writes from abroad about missing the Saline Michigan Rotary Club gathering. He jokes about censorship and travels while promising a future detailed account and a makeup card. He signs as Harold A. Miller with contact lines and dictums about local ads and services.
Daniel Nissley aged 80 long time Saline and Bridgewater resident died Wednesday morning in the local hospital. A stone mason and plasterer by trade he retired years ago and lived with his mother then a nephew. Born July 16, 1861 in Saline Township he leaves nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Bridgewater with Rev. C. M. Phillipp officiating, burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs Walter Kuhl returned to her Manchester home Wednesday afternoon. The twins will remain at the hospital for a time. Mr and Mrs Ervin DeMoulpied are the parents of a son born Thursday. Mr and Mrs Willard Manor Saturday. Mrs Clarence Neithammer returned home Monday after an appendectomy. Sally Campbell had her tonsils removed Tuesday.
