Senior Class Night June 7 At Saline High School

Senior Class Night will be held June 7 at the Saline High School gymnasium. The program starts at 8:00 p m with awards presentations for individuals and classes followed by honors for the class of 1954.

Jacquith To Head Saline Teachers Club 1954 55

Charles Jaquith a Saline High School junior science teacher will head the Saline Teachers Club for 1954 55. He was elected president at the May 25 meeting succeeding Marvin Rerick. Ira Pfeiffle named vice president succeeding Una Dicks. Mabel Wooley chosen secretary succeeding Maxine Ross. Arthur Kaitterjohn elected treasurer succeeding G J Bonich. The club plans a June 2 picnic at Saline Park to close the year. Albert Miller and Mrs. Miller of St Petersburg Fla were guests of the Hosmer family.

Saline High School Baccalaureate Services June 6

The Saline High School baccalaureate for forty nine graduates is set for eight o clock on June 6 in the high school gymnasium. Reverend Harry Ray will deliver the sermon Thinking Words of Character with invocation and benediction by Reverend Theophile Menzel. The mixed chorus and brass choir will perform under Arthur Katter. Reserved seats hold until 7 45 p m and may be released to the general public if unclaimed.

American Legion Auxiliary Meeting Updates in May

Wm. B. Lutz Unit 322 met at the Legion Home on May 25 with 23 members. President Gwenyth Armbruster led as reports were heard, and Sally Cuvok’s Girls State trip was discussed.Plans included a June 30 ice cream social and Teen Agers chaperone hiring, with a noms committee formed to include Martha Girbach Mae Uphaus and Rubena Hunt.

Seniors Map Out Future Plans At Local School

Thanks to English teacher Mrs Max Haswell a list of the seniors plans for the coming year is printed. Several will attend the University of Michigan this fall while others plan to enter Michigan State Normal Ypsilanti Normal or Michigan State College. Some will pursue secretarial work or training at nursing or nursing programs. Others intend to work while a few take courses at various colleges.
