Maureen L. Henderson and Pvt Carl Crothers were united in a double ring ceremony at 2 PM on Wednesday July 19 at the Henderson home. Rev C H Witt-Gracht officiated with Clara Schroen and Mrs George Seeger among the participants. The couple left for Madison Wis where Crothers is stationed at Truax Field. both are graduates of Shaline High School and have worked at Willow Run and United Stove Company respectively.

Lovelace Luckhardt Nuptials Unite In Double Ring Ceremony
Florence Luckhardt daughter of Mr and Mrs Alvin Luckhardt married Cpl Norman Lovelace son of Mr and Mrs Charles Lovelace at the bride’s home in Ann Arbor on Wednesday evening July 19. Rev C H Witthracht officiated before about fifty guests as orchids palms and candles framed the service. The bride wore white satin with marquisette train and orange blossom crown. maid of honor Veneta Carr wore ice blue frosted organdy. Best man Grant J. Lovelace. A reception followed with crystal candlesticks and a wedding cake topped by a miniature bride a Marine wreath. After a brief honeymoon the bride resumes work at King Seeley Corp Ann Arbor. Cpl Lovelace heads to Camp Pendleton after recent South Pacific service including Tarawa with three campaign medals a Silver Star and Purple Heart.

The City of Saline District 1 Fr held its annual school meeting at the high school on July 10 1944. President Dr Prout led the session with reports from the secretary and a vote to accept the last annual and the 1944 45 budget. Elections filled two board seats with Clarence Cook and Clarence Haarer chosen by unanimous ballot and thanks offered to Elizabeth Kuebler. The meeting adjourned.
