Pay-As-You-Go Plan Benefits Wage Earners Say
Michigan wartime official Frank N Isbey describes the pay-as-you-go tax plan as painless and encourages War Savings Bonds. He cites examples: a $40 weekly income would pay 80 cents, $350 weekly 2.80, and a $25 weekly earner would pay 40 cents under the new withholding, with relief from the Victory Tax and 75 percent forgiveness of one year’s income tax.
