Pauline Richards Student Teacher Dies After Illness

Pauline Richards 25 a Keege Harbor schools teacher and daughter of Mr and Mrs Sibert Richards of 31 Harpst St died Tuesday January 7 at St Josephs Mercy hospital after 12 weeks with heart disease. Born in Milan she had lived in Ann Arbor. She graduated in 1933 from Michigan State Normal College. Survived by parents three sisters Lugenia at home Mrs Louis Schanz Ann Arbor Mrs Duane Cheney Flint and three brothers Vivian Milan Medford of Boston Russell Ypsilanti. Funeral services were held Friday with Rev Howard Chapman and Rev R Edward Sayles officiating. Burial Marble Park cemetery Milan.

Saline Home Extension Club Sees January Meeting

The Saline group Home Extension Club met at Mrs. Mildred Lutz's home on Tuesday January 7 with 12 members. Ell a Monroe and Mildred Lutz led a lesson on repairing and upholstering. A cooperative noon dinner followed. Recreation leader Wilma Briggs organized table games trimming the Christmas tree and a quilt block project. The February meeting will be at Mrs. George Grimes with a home safety lesson led by Bertie Gordon and Mary Finkbeiner.

High School Home Economics Club Forms With Leaders

About twenty five girls started a home economics club in a high school. Mrs Kuebler chosen sponsor and advisor with officers President Rubena Bredernitz Vice President Alice Rentschler Secretary Treasurer Beatrice Bondie. Cecelia Gruszecky led a discussion on silverware placement while Evelyn Tanner spoke on table linen. Beatrice Bondie discussed center pieces and Alice Rentschler spoke on serving at the table. The club aims to teach a curriculum element and the Senior boys expect an upcoming cooking event. Watch their smoke.

Local league wins big over Ypsilanti in late game rally

Local team advances into the second half of the schedule by trailing in the intercity meet with Ypsilanti. They clinched the victory by 154 pins as Harmon earned a high total of 577 and Tanner posted a top single of 213. The contest was a one sided slaughter.
