The Michigan Rifle and Pistol Association urges state rifle and pistol clubs to train shooters in marksman ship and safe handling. A meeting in the K of P hall at Milan this Thursday night, sponsored by the United Dairy Farmers, will feature Charles Lockwood of the Detroit Consumers Council. Lockwood and Prof. McFarland previously filed a minority report opposing any price increase to the public unless farmers receive all of the raise. The United Dairy Farmers have grown rapidly and affiliate with the CIO, becoming the first dairy group to join the national labor body.

Saline Rotary hears Gene Yarnell on circus life abroad

Gene Yarnell of Ypsilanti, a sixty year veteran of circuses and theatre, spoke at the Saline Rotary Club at The Tavern last Thursday noon. He recalled touring Europe before World War I, noting Germany was the only country where the circus made money. A. P. News from Seattle reports the death in Houston of Mrs Eiffa M Turner wife of A L Turner longtime superintendent of local schools. Mrs Turner served as matron of the hostess house at Camp Custer during World War I and the Turner family has resided in Houston for 17 years. Funeral services were in Westfield New York where she grew up. A L Turner long served in YMCA work and helped establish adult evening schools before retirement.
