Rev G E McTaggart Dies at 79 in Local Funeral Note

Retired Baptist clergyman Reverend George E McTaggart died Monday night at age 79. Born February 5 1868 in Seaforth Ontario he studied at Hillsdale Michigan and served pastorates in York township Gregory Rollins Aurelius and Stockbridge. Survived by wife Minnie C Rowe two sons William and George one brother William McTaggart and a sister Mrs John McLennon. Funeral at Federated church Thursday at 2 pm with Rev William H Bach officiating. Interment Oakwood cemetery.

Michigan Sets Fourth War Loan Quota to 449 Million

Michigan residents will be called to buy 440 million dollars in war bonds starting January 18 as the Fourth War loan. The state overall quota sits near 451 million in the Third War loan, with a national quota drop from 15 to 14 billion. Individuals are expected to fund most of the fourth loan through Series E F and G bonds, totaling 253 million dollars, while corporations have a 187 million dollar allotment.
