The Independent basketball club hosted two first class teams. On Wednesday the Polish Falcons of Jackson defeated them as Wialicki scored 19 and Ester myer 18 for Saline. Saturday Milton Clothes of Ann Arbor edged Saline by four as Lambarth led with 11 and Kagay had nine.

Saline high school basketball opened with the reserves losing to Chelsea seconds 16 11 in the opener, then the varsity beat Chelsea 22 to 15 in a tighter game. Funeral services this afternoon at 2 at the residence Rev Bertram Ede officiating burial in Oakwood mausoleum.
