J C C to Give Kiddies Party in Saline

Saline youngsters will enjoy a free Christmas party at Saline High School auditorium Saturday at 2 p.m. featuring 1% hours of color cartoons with sound and a Santa visit, ending at 4 p.m. Sponsored by the Saline Chamber of Commerce, the event offers snacks, supervision, and a toy drawing entry for all children up to eighth grade whose letters to Santa are collected at a special mailbox.

Small Fry Party At Methodist Church Friday

Sunday School classes in the Methodist church held a Christmas circus themed party for preschool kindergarten and first grade. Mrs L Gérlinger and Mrs Kenneth Volz led with mothers assisting. Santa acted as ringmaster while frosted animal cookies formed keepsake toys and a candy cane post decorated the tent. About 2 children and 40 adults attended and enjoyed songs games and gifts.

Cub Scout Pack 146 Adds Two Members at Meeting

At a recent Cub Scout pack 146 session John Cheriani and Rodney Prater joined. The group made favors and centerpieces for State Hospital patients and prepared Christmas party sleighs with candy mints. A swimming party at the Y is planned for December Mth.

James Austin to perform in Eastman recital

Saline notice reports James Austin, a Saline native and sophomore, will perform in the third student recital of the University of Rochester Eastman School of Music season. He will play Vivaldi’s Concerto in C Major for two trumpets with Rodger Sherman of Lima. Austin studies public school music and comes from Sidney Mear’s trumpet class.

Thirteen Saline High School seniors joined a national Homemaker of Tomorrow exam on December 3. The test measured homemaking knowledge and attitudes in ten areas, with awards totaling up to 5,000 dollars for the all American winner in a April banquet in New York.
