Dr James B Wallace longtime health officer and prominent local figure died in his sleep at 78 after 41 years of medical practice and 40 years as health officer. Former minister and pastor, he led church and civic groups in Saline and Oakwood cemetery duties. funeral held at Lockwood with Rev Bach.
Charles W Koch 58 Dies in Ann Arbor after Illness
Charles William Koch of Lodi township died Friday night in St. Joseph Mercy hospital Ann Arbor after a brief illness. He was 58, born May 11 1879 in Lodi township, lived in Saline, and belonged to St Paul Evangelical church and the Masonic lodge. A skilled carpenter and mason, he also trapped well in winter. He is survived by a brother George Saline and a sister Mrs Mathilda Layher Battle Creek. Funeral services were held at Lockwood funeral home Tuesday with Rev C H Writtbract officiating and burial at Oakwood cemetery. Masonic rites were held at the graveside. He was known as Baldy by many friends.

Burt Samuel Osborne longtime Saline township farmer died last Wednesday aged 70. He was born February 24 1872 son of George and Nancy Osborne and lived his entire life on the home farm. Survived by wife Agnes Collins son Elton Osborne daughter Mrs Harold Finch five grandchildren nephew George O Leonard Detroit several cousins. Funeral held Saturday at 2 pm at home with Rev R BE Simons of Flat Rock officiating. Interment in Macon cemetery.

Mrs. George Lemke returned home Monday. Mrs. Winnifred Gall came home Tuesday after a week in the hospital and was reported much improved. Mrs. R. Dresselhouse and daughter are now at Saline Valley Farms. Florence Marble of Milan entered the hospital Friday for medical treatment.
