Swine Club Forming For Saline Fair 1955

Study Club Members Visit Rackham School
Twelve women from the Saline Child Study Club toured the Horace Rackham School for Handicapped Children in Ypsilanti. The visit included a guided tour of facilities and an explanation of the school’s three divisions Orthopedics Mentally Retarded and Deaf Mutes. The school houses 80 students with 28 residents and features a gym pool library and an arts and crafts room. A current project is a Super Market used to teach arithmetic reading and writing with students acting as customers and clerks.

Hospital Committee Plans February Fund Raising Drive
The Ways and Means Committee for the proposed hospital met at Dr. Harold Miller’s home to discuss a February fund raising drive. They proposed personal contacts and pledges as the main method and planned rural and urban surveys led by Lois Kohler Tommy Zahn and Dennis Engelbert. A January 11 public meeting at the high school will outline final dates and surveys with future planning by January 4 and February 14 through 19 as target fundraising period.
