Mrs. A J Warren displays a varied china painting collection with winter scenes, naturalistic fruits and flowers, and mounted portraits. Mr. Warren showcases inlaid woodwork including a top pedestal, a unique card table, footstool, and cabinet, some woods sourced from Africa and other countries.
Saline defeated Milan on November 23 in the first league debate of the year. The Saline team Grace Clark Eugene Rentschler and Ray Gleason argued the negative side on government ownership of electric utilities. Professor Harry T. Wood judged Saline the stronger, citing better material knowledge. The team plans a December 10 league debate in Brooklyn with the same side.
Saline Woman's Club met with Miss Vesta Mill on November 10 to discuss whether women in foreign countries show more political interest than American women. Mrs Hanson supported the affirmative, Isther Landwehr the negative, with a general discussion noting American women as leaders. The next meeting, December 8 at Mrs Hubert Spangler's home, will feature Public Welfare Work with Mr Starr of Starr Commonwealth for Boys as speaker.
The O B S elected and installed new officers for the year led by Worthy Matron Sophia Austin and Worthy Patron William Austin. Appoints include Adah Naomi Friis Ruth Nettie Schultz Esther Della Austin and Martha Laura Mann Electa Florence Bowen Warder Pauline Fosdick Sentinel George W Seeger plus delegates to the grand chapter. Also notes a separate railroad accident near HiHot t depot with no injuries reported.
Mr and Mrs C F Ernst of Bridgewater run a lunch room groceries gas station and auto repair shop. They moved here eleven years ago after farming and blacksmith work. The family includes four children and Mrs Ernst is the local correspondent for The Sealine Observer.

A brief recipe explains combining 14 tablespoons brown sugar 7 tablespoons vinegar and 2 tablespoons butter. Boil until the mixture snaps in cold water. Pour into a buttered tin thinly and cut into squares.

A joint meeting of Ypsilanti Milan Wayne Ann Arbor and Saline clubs at Ypsilanti honored Herold H. Reinecke of Detroit FBI as speaker. He described the department’s drive against kidnaping and bank robbery and the new tactic of targeting all connected accomplices to prison, noting crime declines and a college educated, honest staff.
The post office expects the Christmas mail volume to be the greatest ever and urges Mail Early to avoid delays. Do not open until Christmas labels may be used and special delivery advised for late packages to meet December 24 delivery. carrier deliveries will be suspended on Christmas Day.
