Coal Ration Plan May Close Some Establishments

If the report is true consumers of coal will be allowed only 70 percent of their previous use this winter. The rule likely will force the closure of at least one establishment during January and part of February.

Bayha funeral held after Saline trip to Niethammer rites

Jacob Bayha funeral services were held at Lockwood Funeral Home after the Bayhas traveled from Santa Ana California to attend Fred Niethammer and wife’s golden anniversary. Bayha died Friday morning from a heart attack and is survived by his wife Clara Niethammer a son and daughter in California three brothers and two sisters in Germany and a granddaughter. The body went to California for further services and burial, with Mrs Bayha returning as far as Chicago with her sister Mrs Fred Alber of Ann Arbor.

High School Seniors Schedule Big Paper Drive

The seniors of the high school will collect paper and cardboard on Monday April 17. Rural residents may call the school to inform the seniors. Contributions are requested for the class and Uncle Sam. The Board of Review meets Monday April 17 at City Hall from 9 am to 5 pm to review the roll and hear property owner complaints.
