Pittsfield Votes on Fire Department Plan and Funding
A petition from about 140 residents asks Pittsfield township to place on the April 7 ballot a measure to buy fire extinguishing equipment and a building to house it with a $20 000 appropriation. If funds are insufficient the board would also seek a 5 mill tax increase for 1947 raising taxes by $5 per $1 000 of valuation, with a likely extra $1 per $1 000 for ongoing operations if established.
