The survey for a near Hillside boulevard and parkway from Blythawood north to Linnton is complete. Engineer Woodruff Vincent Jones and assistants presented a 50 foot map showing the route and contours. Property owners along Portland to Linnton will donate a 200 foot wide strip. Legal deeds to be secured within ten days, then cross sectioning and grading will begin, funded by owner bonds. The Linnton city will handle bonds and contracts as the boulevard lies within Linnton limits. The parkway will be graded 20 feet on each side with a foot right of way for a streetcar line, preserving trees and natural growth while providing trails and future street connections. The 12 mile route rises from 350 to 660 feet and maintains four percent grade, offering views of the Cascade range and the Columbia River. Portland northern areas will be visible from varied vistas as the boulevard progresses.

A full house enjoyed a rich piano recital last Friday at the Evangelical church featuring vocal selections by St. Clair and violinist Flavius West. Andrew McCallum a former St Johns resident at 814 North Hayes street died Sunday morning June 1 1913 at 10 oclock The funeral was held Tuesday after noon from the Congregational church Rev Gates of Dallas Ore delivered a strengthening message He was laid to rest in the K of P cemetery He leaves a widow and a son and was of Scotch descent noted as a kind husband father and neighbor.

Foreman Mrs A Larrowe led the panel, with spectators applauding the novelty of women deciding the case.
