Miss Patricia Ellen Riser married Wiley Hilburn in a seven thirty sunset ceremony at Temple Hagens Church Ruston with a double ring rite. Attended by sister Ann Riser and bridesmaids Alice Barrard and Silvia Ledbetter the wedding featured powder blue gowns and a floral palette of pink carnations and gardenias. The bride wore imported silk organza with Alencon lace and a seed pearl veil. After a church reception the couple planned a summer in Monroe and fall studies in Baton Rouge at LSU. Out of town guests traveled from Springhill Shreveport and Texas for the ceremony.

Rehearsal Supper Held for Riser Hilburn Attendants
Members of the Hilburn-Tiser wedding party were entertained at a rehearsal supper Thursday evening June 1. Hosts were Mr. and Mrs Barham and Mr. and Mrs J. M. Fielder. The Rendezvous in Monroe hosted the private dining room decor and floral arrangements for the dinner.

Broiler Meat Contains More Protein Less Fat
A study by LSU Poultry Industry Department led by Clayton Teunis shows broiler meat provides high quality protein with low fat. Analyzed carcasses ranged from five to eight percent fat with taste panels finding tenderness juiciness and flavor similar across fat levels.
