Jean Johnson Weds Avelle Kent In Home Ceremony

Jean Johnson becomes bride of Avelle Kent in a home wedding ceremony. She wore a dress of white with pearls and carried pink carnations. a Bible and lace accessories accompanied her attire. Attending were Edna and Judy Johnson, bridesmaids were her nieces. The groom's mother wore a black and white dress with organza collars. corsage of white carnations. A reception followed in the decorated den.

Miss Barbara Rasbury and Buford Green Wed in Monroe

Miss Barbara Rasbury and Buford James Green wed at Grace Methodist Church with a double ring ceremony. Rev George W. Ross officiated. bride wore white satin with Chantilly lace and carried white carnations and a large orchid. Attendants included Miss Iva Ann Causey and Miss Hazel Marie Johnson. Bride’s parents and guests from Ruston, Monroe and Lake Charles attended. Reception followed in Fellowship Hall. couple plan to reside in Quitman after a southern Louisiana trip.

Wild Life and Fisheries Get Federal Aid for Game Reserves

John D. Newsom of the Louisiana Wild Life and Fisheries division announced about 241000 dollars in federal Pittman Robertson funds for game insect projects for 1961-62, down from 1960-61 as surplus spending reduced. The interior department funds, tied to sporting gear taxes, are being apportioned for use during 1962-63 to sustain the Robertson program, with some states facing depleted aid.
