Regional Development Program Proposed for Manitoba
Hon. F. L. Jobin calls for a regional development plan dividing Manitoba into five economic geographic sections. Each section would form a regional association coordinating municipal regional and provincial efforts in industrial, agricultural, tourism and highway planning. He stressed growth should be long term and not tied to armament, noting Manitoba’s forest mineral water power oil and diverse agriculture and its strategic location for light manufacturing.

The World of Wheat by W. W. Muaner
The Dominion Laboratory of Plant Pathology monitors rust in Manitoba and Saskatchewan via spore traps. Traps, small weather vanes with vaseline slides, capture particles for 43 hours before Winnipeg analysis. Early May reports suggest rust losses unlikely due to early sowings and widespread resistant varieties.
