J H Goodart Dies At 78 Pioneer Roswell Resident
J H Goodart longtime Roswell area resident died suddenly at six last night on his farm east of town along Lovers Lane. He was 78, born July 20 1862 in Berlin Germany and came to the U S at age five. He lived in Roswell 55 years and on Lovers Lane 40 years, aiding civic projects and tree planting shaping the community. He joined in building Roswell and the surrounding area through progressive efforts and beautification as a leading citizen.

Escaped Convict Caught Near Loving New Mexico
Floyd Gunnels, 22, of Loving, sentenced to one to two years for assaulting a female minor, captured in Eddy County jail en route back to the penitentiary after escaping ten days earlier.
