Finance Director Demands Reimbursement from Armory Fund
Santa Fe finance director says the state will seek about 690 dollars drawn on the Santa Fe Armory Board. The money allegedly paid expenses for New Mexico National Guard officers at a 1954 National Guard Assn. convention in Miami. The attorney general's office requested the repayment and consideration of paying officers or via a trust fund set up by former adjutant general C. G. Sage. Earlier about 2400 dollars was recovered from the fund for two other conventions.

Inquest Planned in Death of Dr J J Walker
An inquest was scheduled for 3 45 p m today in Justice R Perry Bean's court for Dr J J Walker 74 of 2118 Pennsylvania Ave found dead at home by Mrs Walker. Police Chief Tommy Thompson said death appeared caused by a revolver wound in a personal safety case.

Joslin Captured in Texas City After Escape
Ross Helm Joslin 21 of Leming Texas was captured by FBI agents and city detectives in San Antonio after escaping from the Santa Fe jail. He hitchhiked from Santa Fe to El Paso then rode a bus to San Antonio. Four others who escaped with him were captured. one remains at large. All face federal escape and rescue law charges.

Sergeant Prefers 90 Days Sentenced Over Marine Prison
Marine Sgt Richard K Battershell of Camp Pendleton was sentenced to 30 days for cashing five forged checks totaling 625 dollars. He told Municipal Judge Beach Vasey he would prefer 90 days to avoid a possible bad conduct discharge and a Marine Corps court martial. The judge granted the request.

George A Miller, laborer, won a $2200 settlement from Malco Refineries and American Employers Insurance Co in a district court case.
