Prisoners Hold Hostages in Dutch Chapel Rescue

Four convicts seized 22 hostages in a Scheveningen prison chapel and demanded a plane. Magnesium grenades blinded them briefly. 15 marines and police then stormed the chapel, freeing the captives with no casualties. Hostages, including two women, were unharmed.

Turquoise Bandit Makes Halloween Flight at Del Norte

Up Students at Del Norte Elementary School welcomed a Halloween display as the Turquoise Bandit owned by Mr and Mrs Bill Flynt lifted into the October sky. Flynts son Trey attends Del Norte, and the aircraft is set to take off again around 5 p.m. today at Sunset Elementary School south of Roswell.

Controversy Surrounds Western Skies Tax Decree Ties Norvell Anaya

Dist. Atty. David Norvell and Toney Anaya figure in a consent decree that freed Western Skies Motor Hotel from about 100000 in property taxes for two years. The decree, dated Sept. 7, 1973, named Anaya as the hotel owners’ representative while Norvell signed as state attorney general. Norvell disclosed Sierra Life Insurance Co now holds a mortgage on his Santa Fe home linked to the hotel, prompting questions about conflicts and past dealings with Anaya and Chalamidas.
