Murder charge follows arrest of Charley Jones in Indian Territory
A man identified as Charley Jones alias Henry Jackson was arrested twenty miles north on the Pecos at a cow camp on a murder charge. The alleged crime occurred years ago near Muskogee Indian Territory involving an older white man and a negro accomplice who disposed of a body in a creek. The white man received a 99 year sentence. the accused negro escaped, with Jones denying any crime and claiming he has always been Charley Jones. He admits Creek Nation origins and was seized after officers tracked him in the Valley.
