Woman Dead After Hat Pin Attack at Peoria Church Event
A large Peoria audience attended a Methodist Church program when Mrs. Nellie Thompson died from injuries after a confrontation with Henry Higgins and his sister following a note they allegedly tried to deliver at the depot. Higgins, 26, says Mrs. Thompson attacked him with a hat pin and he struck her with a chair in self defense. he is charged with murder. The incident happened after a crowd blocked exits and the program continued with performances by local singers and musicians.
