Carpenter Returned to State Prison in Santa Fe

Tanker finds two aircraft type wheels in Atlantic search

The British tanker Navicella reported recovering two aircraft type wheels that may belong to a missing U S transport plane. A British launch and two American plus two British search planes were deployed 250 miles southwest of Land's End as investigators check wheel numbers. The C18 1 8 transport vanished Wednesday night with 59 service members aboard including 50 Air Force and nine Navy personnel.

United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold prepared a fresh bid to unite Britain France and Egypt on the Suez dispute.
