Poisoned liquor death leads to murder charge in Santa Fe
In Santa Fe on October 8 a coroner's inquest linked poison alcohol to the death of 16 year old Filimon Martinez of Chimayo. The boy allegedly drank a tainted beverage given by his stepfather Sandiego Garduno who is jailed without bond as first degree murder charges are filed. District Attorney J J Kenney says Martinez told three companions Garduno gave him the drink.

Two U. Students Hurt In Albuquerque Collision
Claire Frank and Austin Frank, both University of New Mexico students from Albuquerque, were injured when a motorcycle they rode collided with a car driven by Elizabeth Bruskas of Albuquerque. Claire suffered a broken left thigh while Austin had cuts and bruises. the bike skidded as Austin tried to avoid the car. 104 Year Old Man Attended Barbecue
The old timers at Roswell’s fair welcomed Alijo Herrera to their barbecue claiming he is 104, a rate others doubt but few questioned as he joined the meal. R F Barnett recalls Herrera worked for him near Roswell fifty years ago and was already older than a youth in the eighties. Hervey and Mrs Poe remember his age too.
