Lopez to Face Federal Judge Over Jury Tampering Charge
Juan R. C. Lopez former remittance clerk at First National Bank of Santa Fe faces Judge Colin Neblett tomorrow on charges of jury tampering. If convicted he could receive at least 26 years in prison. Federal prosecutor Hugh Woodward said Lopez allegedly tried to influence a jury panel involved with Eduardo Trujillo, a convicted bank conspiracy case. Lopez, held in Santa Fe, was released to Judge Reed Holloman and ordered to show cause why probation should not be revoked.

Two Oklahoma Men Sentenced to Penitentiary in Roswell
R. H. Pennington and H. G. Tucker of Oklahoma were arrested Saturday afternoon and pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and accompanying a drunken driver. Judge Miguel A. Otero Jr. sentenced each to one year in the state penitentiary after their guilty pleas in the Fifth Judicial court for Chaves county. Officers E. J. House and Pa O'Neill made the arrest. the men were said to have ingested poison. Judge Otero then left for Santa Fe, continuing as First Judicial District judge.

The Roswell advisory building committee awarded the contract for plans and specifications of a new Presbyterian Church to Rapp & Rapp of Trinidad Colorado. Expected cost is 30000 to 35000 dollars with site at Third and Kentucky replacing the former John Knox house. The old church on Third and Pennsylvania burned January 25 1932. built in 1900 it was Roswell’s oldest church.
