Bereavement clinic helps families cope with newborn deaths
At Downstate Medical Center and Kings County Hospital Center a perinatal mortality bereavement clinic offers free volunteer support to mothers and families after stillbirths or newborn deaths. The team explains the death, encourages viewing the infant, provides follow up, and addresses trauma, guilt, and marital impact.
