Four Bodies Found in Ruins of New Jersey House

In Long Branch New Jersey May 31 the bodies of two young daughters of Walter Schiffer secretary of the United Cigar Manufacturers Company and two servants were found in the flames ruins of his new house last night Marion 10 and Ruth 14 perished. Mrs Schiffer was severely burned and in critical condition while Schiffer and two guests also suffered serious burns and four others were injured. The house had been rented from Jacob Rothschild.

Funeral for Alvin K. Mott Held Sunday

The funeral for Alvin K. Mott was held Sunday afternoon at two at the Methodist Episcopal church at Fifth Street and Kentucky Avenue with George W. Read officiating. Burial followed in South Cemetery. A previous report misstated living arrangements of the deceased’s children. The elder son resides with his mother, the first Mrs. Mott, who died eighteen months before Mr. Mott’s second marriage to his present wife in this city.

C M Forney a motorman on the Cleveland and South western Traction road was arrested in Cleveland to answer charges of causing seven deaths and eight injuries in a midday collision in Elyria.
