Sandoval seeks federal indictment in Albuquerque abuse case
Texas civil rights attorney Ruben Sandoval pledged to press the US Department of Justice to indict former Albuquerque officer James Babich for civil rights violations in the Andres Ramirez case. A district court jury had acquitted Babich of involuntary manslaughter in Ramirez’s death after testimony that Ramirez was struck by Babich’s flashlight.
