Designers Charged in Caleb Schwab Water Park Death
A Texas based Schlitterbahn co owner Jeffrey Henry and designer John Schooley face charges of reckless second degree murder and 17 other felonies in the 2016 decapitation of 10 year old Caleb Schwab on the Verruckt ride at Schlitterbahn Kansas City park. The indictment accuses Henry of rushing the 17 story slide into service without proper engineering and notes lack of engineering input. Henry held without bond in Texas pending extradition. Schooley not in custody. The probe also targets Henry & Sons Construction Co and the park alongside the park operations manager Tyler Miles charged earlier with involuntary manslaughter.
